What a year. 2023 went by like a freight train. It was a huge blessing to have a full year of work after having some health issues last year. 14 weddings, countless portrait sessions, tractor sessions for Antique Power, and SO much travel. I took a month off in the middle of May – the middle of June in order to go to Europe which was such an incredible trip. The fall ended up being HUGELY busy but it was exciting to be back running at full throttle. This year also had a lot of personal growth and challenge, but I am thankful to be stretched and grown. God has worked in ways I would’ve never anticipated and I am so thankful for how He has sustained me throughout the last year. I have no idea what 2024 is gearing up to be, but I know wherever God leads is good and right….and I can trust Him with that.
Enjoy a bit of a look back on 2023 🙂
I started off the year flying out to Alberta to photograph Josh and Loretta’s beautiful Fort Mcleod wedding and it was such a stunning day!
We were able to sneak out for some golden hour portraits in the Downtown area, which was so fun and the lighting was perfect!
My sister Olivia was a great assistant and helped with behind the scenes!
Then it was time to say goodbye to Canada and travel through Portugal, Spain, England, and Scotland for a few weeks… this was an incredible experience and I cannot wait to go back!
Once I got back, I had the privilege of flying out to New Brunswick for photograph a AirBNB.
This summer was jammed with several tractor sessions, which allowed me to explore lots of different areas of Ontario. 🙂
I was so thankful for my friend Lauren who was able to come and help me second shoot Mikayla and Joseph’s wedding. She has helped me year after year and is such a blessing!
This day was so magical and we had the most beautiful light!
Running into my dear friend Emily who was a Maid of Honor at another wedding!
I was blessed to have been able to second shoot for Sarah Grace twice this past year, and it was a day of intense rain, but we persevered and were blessed with a stunning golden hour!
I also was able to second for my friend Emily from Emily B Photography. It was a stunning fall day, and always such a pleasure to work with her!
I love this job 🙂
Look at this magic!
Thank you so much Em for all these behind the scenes photos!
Jess and Aindriu’s beautiful Niagara wedding was such a privilege to be apart of! Sophie came along to second and did such a good job!
Testing the light.
The realities of being a wedding photographer…lots of veil fixing, lots of awkward demonstrations, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Testing the light > vs the shot 😛
Testing flash shots 🙂
What is happening 😛
Finishing up the year associate shooting and second shooting for my good friend Ashley, who is actually going to be seconding for me in March! So thankful for the photographer community for creating friendships and opportunities to serve and work together!
And that is a wrap on 2023…..every year has been so different than I could’ve hoped or planned, and I am SO pumped (and a smidgen nervous) for whatever God has in store for this year. I want to serve well, be faithful, and do whatever I can to make my couples’ wedding days as easily flowing as possible!
